Sixth and Seventh Grade ART Students
Dear Parents,
Your child has enrolled in a visual art class. In order for your child to get the most out of this class, he/she will need a few supplies.
The following items will be needed as soon as possible:
- A 6B drawing pencil. This can be purchased individually at Porters or BYUI. (7th grade only)
- Pink Pearl eraser.
- Kneaded rubber eraser. This item can be purchased at Porters or BYUI bookstore.
- Box of 24 colored pencils. The Crayola brand is a very good value.
- Box of 24 or 48 Crayola crayons.
- Pouch or container to store and organize their materials.
These items will need to be brought to art class each day. In art, part of the grade will be determined by the effort students demonstrate in preparedness and attitude toward the correct use of tools in class. Students will use these materials for both 6th and 7th grade art. If for any reason you will not be able to purchase the above supplies, please send a short note to me with your child.
Not only will these supplies be of benefit this year, but they will also be invaluable to have as your child continues to develop their art. Finally, your child’s personal supplies will help keep your child healthy. Personal supplies will help alleviate the spread of viruses and bacteria by reducing the use of shared tools. Please encourage your student to wash their hands often while at school. To facilitate clean hands, I have installed two soap dispensers in the art room.
I look forward to a very productive year in the art room. You can expect your child to develop new visual skills this year. I am committed to the growth of each student and will work with you and your child to maximize this process. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or ideas that will benefit the students in my program.
