Trenton After School Program

Trenton After School Program

The Trenton After School Program (TASP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit program of Princeton Outreach Projects, Inc. For 22 years TASP has served at-risk Trenton children with after school and summer enrichment. It is needed now more than ever to combat the increased violence and diminished public schools.

On Saturday, June 14 TASP will hold a fundraiser Reception&Auction called Time for TASP. Area fine artists, including Michael Graves, have embellished clocks that will be auctioned. Time for TASP is being hosted by the Arts Council of Princeton at their newly renovated Paul Robeson Center for the Arts, 102 Witherspoon Street, Princeton. See the clocks at: www.trentonafterschoolprogram.org.

Social Capital Survey of Central NJ

People in central New Jersey are better educated, more racially and ethnically diverse, and have higher incomes that national averages, key components for community involvement. But they are no more likely that their national counterparts to be engaged in civic activities despite average work and commute times that are two hours less per week than the national average, according to a ground breaking new Social Capital Benchmark Survey that was conducted in the Central New Jersey region. The Princeton Area Community Foundation and the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation are joining forces to help businesses and residents in Central New Jersey create more social capital. Over the next several weeks the two organizations will launch a five part initiative, to include an outreach campaign to key local leaders; an information campaign; a fall forum; a business and non-profit board recruitment and training program and a $2.5 million dollar social capital grant program. For more information about this important Social Capital Benchmark Survey and to find our how we can be Better Together visit www.princetonchamberfoundation.org or www.pacf.org
